I’m Sorry For What I Said When I was Hungry

I’ve always said I cannot be held responsible for the things I say when I’m hungry. (Insert Snickers commercial here). When you’re looking for a quick bite to eat in the North Fork though, it’s not as easy as one might think. Fast food chains have basically been forbidden, and while that is a big part of the charm, it does make it hard when you need food, and fast!

So to help preserve relationships everywhere, here is a list of places that you can go when all you need is a little something to get you back to your normal, lovable self!

This is probably one of the coolest new ideas around! The popular catering company known as Grace & Grit recognized the fact that there really was not many places for people to grab a burger if they are on the go.  They decided to open a pop-up burger joint that serves burgers and fries on Thursdays from 11am-11pm.  Their menu includes regular burgers, stuffed burgers, along with a variety of sides. Burger Pop-Up is located at 55750 Main Road in Southold.

Yo Quiero Taco Bell! But there is none.  A better option? Luncharitos! While this is technically a restaurant, you absolutely can call ahead or stop in and grab a taco to go. Even  better news, is that although Luncharitos is only located in Greenport as of now, they are opening another location in Aquebogue!  Get your taco fix at the beginning and end of the fork. The Greenport location is at 119 Main Street. The Aquebogue location will be at 487 Main Road, coming this spring!

When all else fails, you really can’t go wrong with pizza. Some of my favorite spots are Lenny’s in Jamesport, Michelangelo’s Pizzeria in Mattituck and 1943 Pizza Bar in Greenport.

And if you really really want actual fast food, there is only one place that was given permission to open in the NoFo, McDonald’s! You may not recognize it though, as it looks like a house right on Rt. 25 in Mattituck. One of the many regulations it was given in order to be on the Fork!
