5 Places to Cuddle In The North Fork This Winter!

I know we all miss the warmer days of bike riding, sun bathing, and vineyard hopping in the North Fork, but sometimes there is nothing better than cuddling up beside family and friends by a roaring fire with a hot beverage in hand.  Check out my top places to go in the North Fork this winter plus a few bonus recipes (no matter where you are) to keep you toasty and warm at home!

#5 Bedell Cellars

In what is considered one of the more posher vineyards on the fork, the loft upstairs at Bedell Cellars offers an intimate setting for couples and small groups looking to hang by a fire. Before you go inside though, don’t forget to take advantage of the perfect winter photo op beneath their vine trellis out front!

Bedell Cellars is located at 36225 NY-25, Cutchogue, NY 11935.

#4 Cooperage Inn

If you like getting out of the house (but still want to go go somewhere with a homey and relaxed feel), then head to the Cooperage Inn and grab a seat by their stone fireplace.   They have an extensive dinner menu with wonderful reviews, but be sure to check out their Sunday brunch!

Cooperage Inn is located at 2218 Sound Avenue, Baiting Hollow.

#3 Sherwood House Vineyards

If you are looking for a place with ambiance to unwind by the fire, Sherwood has the most inviting fireplace of them all! Not only are the grounds beautiful, but inside this winery is an antique shop filled with some really cool finds!

Sherwood House Vineyards is located at 1291 Main Road, Jamesport, NY.

#2 Jedediah Hawkins Inn

Jedediah will give you all the cozy feels as you dine by firelight. While they are best known for their dining experience, hidden downstairs is one of their best kept secrets, an authentic speakeasy! If you are looking for something unique and fun to do, this would definitely be it.

#1 There’s No Place Like Home

Let’s face it, when the snow starts coming down there is nothing better than snuggling up on the couch with the ones you love. Here are a few hot drinks that will be sure to warm you right up!

Gin and Jam Hot Tea: I came up with this after I saw Gin and Jam Tea as a cocktail they drink in London, but could’t find an actual recipe for it anywhere. It sounded too good not to try, so here is how I did it. So yummy, and makes such a cute display if you are entertaining.  Think of it as a little tea party with a twist!

2 ounces gin1 ounce fresh squeezed lemon juice2 tablespoons of your fave fruit spread (if you are local try Peconic River Preserves!)1 cup of your favorite tea

  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add in all ingredients and shake for 20 seconds so the ice melts and dilutes ingredients just a bit.
  • Strain into your mug 1/3 of the way up.
  • Add your hot tea and enjoy!

Red Wine Hot Chocolate: This is one of the latest drink trends of the season, and its recipe is the simplest yet!

1) Make hot chocolate.

2) Add your favorite red wine (I used the Cabernet Sauvignon from Castello di Borghese Vineyard).

3) Add toppings like cinnamon, marshmallows, or whipped cream on top.

4) Take an Instagram picture (be sure to share with us so we can see using hashtag #nofogirl or tag us at @nofogirlblog).

5) Drink!

Stay Warm!
